Black Folks…How Far Have We Really Come?šŸ¤¬šŸ¤¦šŸ½ā€ā™€ļøšŸ‘€

I wanted to share this video that I came across online, (Please click the link below) it takes a look back in time, the 70’s to be exact and shows how racism existed with children and teens in Queens, New York. Although this is just one part of the U.S, it shows how racism was passed down to children from adults. Kids are not born knowing color or racism, it’s hate that is taught.

How Far have we really come? With Trump in office I have seen racism that was once kept under the rug, in households….show its ugly head with no remorse again. With the police brutality and unlawfully convicted black Americans for crimes they didn’t commit, I can’t really say we have came to much further. Yes blacks are doing financially better than those times and many more are holding higher positions, but are we being put up with because we can be of use in Music, sports, technology, medicine?

I’d love to hear your opinion on this….thanks for Reading!!! Please click the link below and share your thoughts!

  1. Not Far enough. What good is protesting when each time in the history of this country, there is “white backlash”. After the civil war, and the installation of black men to congress, people grew angry, especially white women, who were not allowed to vote yet, and the systematic Jim Crow laws, voter suppression, sharecropping ( slavery 2.0), and the KKK were implemented to keep black people out of the political process and upward mobility. Then 100 years later, civil rights and voters rights bills pass, and what did you get? A defection of white supremacist from the Democratic part to the Republican party ( most who are second generation of those Dixiecrats who hold political office in the south). Finally the ultimate backlash, against President Obama. Remember the Tea Party? had you heard of them before President Obama was elected? Had there been anyone who said during a Presidential address to the nation, “You lie”, in congress? Had there been anyone like Mitch McConnell whom said his job was to make the president a one term president? And the most ultimate backlash, the election of the turd in Chief… Trump. Now reparation talks are heating up, can you imagine the national backlash that would be, given the fact that this nation has paved its way on the backs of black people?

    – could you imagine if all black kids decided to go to HBCU’s, including kids who play sports? Can you imagine that? That’s just one of many ideas that can be achieved to get people to stop thinking that integration is the answer. It’s not, and has never has been. You cannot pray your way into this society. You have to create your own subgroup of people, education, business and social networks and exploit them. Why not?

    1. I love this and yes! Imagine if we stopped making music and playing sports, if we all went to HBCU’s and gave money to Historically black institutions. If we stopped killing each other and built up the hoods by hand and foot instead of breaking it down with drugs and gangs? That’s why I grew fond of Nipsey Hussle, he started the trend of giving back to the community by taking his money and opening STEM places where students into technology and go, barker shops, clothing stores to employ convicts, including restaurants and investing in Vegas casino set to be built in 2021. We have so much opportunity but still live like crabs in a barrel and bring each other down, read my post on Black on black crime, this explains my point well. Thank you!!!!!!

    1. Exactly!!! Why is it we can come together and build our own without killing? Why are held captive to that slave mentality? We cry about it daily but for decades been facing the same shame. Thank you for reading!!

  2. Nothing really has changed. A lot of people talk about how integrating was a great thing but what benefits did we reap from it or are we reaping from it? I watched this video about 5x and just kept thinking.. white racism supremacy don’t gaf bout who feels the effects of this shit. There was so much confusion and hurt in those kids eyes and that just sickens me. Nothing has changed. They killing our babies in broad daylight with proof of innocence and still getting away with it. Its all taught and they all the same regardless if they realize it or not. Integration was a mistake.
